VYB is an IoT product manufacturer targeting premium smart home product users. We were approached to bring their vision of a modern and unique brand position and a much improved app user experience into life.
Clients vision was for the brand was something that was versatile and can be perceived a highly sought after lifestyle brand instead of just a technology company creating IoT products. Our designers created an logo mark with colour gradients and a fluid shape within a circle that signifies the brand’s multifaceted approach to IoT.
We were tasked with creating a radically different UX/UI for their primary app. A lot of visual cues were used to help users easily navigate and interact with their devices. Since the client wanted a dark theme for the app, our team had to completely reimagined the app interface to make the users interactions more lifelike.
The UI elements controlling functions of a device have a depressed/elevated look to mimic in part how a physical switch in the world works. Usage of a very evident colour highlights showing active inactive states and a lot of illustrations and literal depiction of elements to make it as easy as possible for the end user.
The challenge we faced with this brand was in creating marketing messages that communicated the premium position of the brand and the depth of features available in clear & concise manner. Our approach to it was to keeping it primarily image/graphic based which helped the brand reach and acquire a completely new & unaware user base. The artworks designed helped the brand’s target market understand how these products provide a more improved and comfortable lifestyle while being incredibly easy to use.
